It's mid-semester break, and my brain doesn't want to help me get some work done ... delivered a few people to the airport really really early on Friday morning, and used the rest of the day to attempt to study, or get some sleep. Saturday ... um... I did stuff. Sunday? I chopped stuff for the Decay to cook up a storm in the parental's kitchen ... I don't think cutting my finger counts as chopping up stuff though ... it's ok though I still have all my fingers (:
What did Decay cook up? Roast Scotch Fillet, scalloped potatoes, roast carrot and pumpkin, and apple and blackberry pie ... while we were originally feeding 8, we ended up only having 5, and a plate to be put aside for mum who was eating later ... Shep must've had a really nice dinner last night (: G's comment was that Decay made a very good 1950's housewife ... *giggle* (:
must ... stop ... procrastinating ... Or I could just do it tomorrow ...
Happy Birthday to Decay ... it is very difficult to engineer a surprise element into your birthday, given that I'd rather be with you than run off, and then explaining why I'm running off sort of ruins surprises ... *giggle*

How did this all come about? Funny you should ask ...
Yesterday, the Decay and I went to do a bit of grocery shopping, and popped into the House of K for a bit of a look around for what has been colloquially known around these parts as a corner thing, and we happened to have a Gamecube on offer for a very good price ... also on offer was an XBox for a more expensive but still fairly OK price ... so, we ummmed and ahhed, and I convinced us that we should go around and have a look at prices offered at other places... It goes with my rule of attempting not to impulse buy ... which I'm OK at, even with the evil piece of plastic known as a credit card ...
Prices were compared, and we lamented at the out of stockness at one place (Hello to Hewey's younger bro ... being helpful type retail person) with a really really good price ... and after all that, we decided we'd put off purchasing for a little while longer...
Enter Droidy with a small plan ... nip off to place of purchase to procure one of these cute lil boxen after work, and give the Decay another outlet of frustration venting, infront of a different cathode ray tube... The official birthday present happened on the weekend when I bought him a couple of shirts, so he'd have a long sleeved shirt to wear to a wedding we were attending ... but ... I just don't think shirts are a particularly ... birthdayish kind of present to give/receive...
Except we were going out to dinner earlier, as in as soon as I finished work I'd have to make my way over to the dinner venue ... thwarted that bit ... but not for long ... plan B was now in action ... since I'd actually driven to the dinner venue straight from work, I still had a car to nip off and come back with cute lil box ... so I took Decay's mother along for a short shopping trip ... where we found an approximation to a corner thing, and a Gamecube. .. and another game ... yay!
Decay was suitably surprised when we eventually got back ... makes me all happy and grinny (:
However, I should do some work now ... the stirfry ninja gets his lot tomorrow ... it is very kewl, by the way (:

It's Decay's birthday on Monday... he tells me not to do anything for his Birthday, but I can't do that! Well, I can, but I don't want to ... I'm being torn between the practical and the unaffordable ...
It's also Astroboy's birthday on Monday ... as in, it's the day he was born in the series... April 7, 2003. Yay!
Ok, that's enough ranting. I got me a pile of work to get through ... Am waving, not drowning ... or was it the other way around?
