What's this thing called an essay?

Yes. Engineering faculty type subject. Suddenly, there's an essay to write, and it's not in the management subjects ... wha? I am enjoying the reading for this subject though ... a sample of what could be reading?

While I'm distracting myself from the actual writing of the essay as such, have a look at some weird freaky pictures, link courtesy of Phancy ...

I should just go and get some sleep instead ...

It's kind of hard to believe that Decay and I have been together for two years ... in some ways, it feels like we've been together for so much longer, other times it feels like we haven't known each other not nearly long enough ... *sigh* We ended up having dinner at Taco Bills on Friday night, because he asked what I'd like for dinner, and I said something crunchy ... It was a pretty ok dinner, it satisfied the crunchy component of the requirements, and it cost us $1.00 for every minute we were at the place ... Not sure that we'd classify this as a romantic dinner, but I'm not sure I understand the concept of a romantic dinner ... I was actually quite happy just to stay at home (after we'd gone and returned some videos we rented last week) and have toasted cheese sandwiches or something for tea ... just the thing about lots of time spent together doing not much ... yeah yeah I know, sappiness again ... I'm tired...

Something witless this way comes?

I just got my Operating Systems shell programming prac marked... painless... after it invading my brain, and Decay's brain, and me not having fun debugging, and not thinking properly ... hey it works... I'm allowed to use less to break my ouput in to pages, aren't I? (:

Now that I've finished that, I'm trying to spend the rest of the time catching up on the ATM theory tutorials ... I am building up my typing speed again, typing out the notes, since we can't highlight and cut and copy cos the program doesn't want us to do that... I guess print screen would do something too ... but where the hell would you put 60 gazillion screen shots?

Last night was dessert at Mocha Joe's for Em's farewell ... Decay and I tried the Cappucino cake... it was really too sweet ... so we attacked all the bits that were cake-like, and the meringue stuff on the top ... and left the goopy icing layers that didn't even taste remotely cappucino like... so why did they call it a cappucino cake? That was my short review. I don't know that I'll bother with the long review, they didn't annoy me as much as Cafe Soho does...

Speaking of Cafe Soho... today is the second anniversary of when Decay and I started going out... scary, isn't it? We sat drinking caffeinated beverages at Cafe Soho two years and 3 days ago, both commenting on the lack of taste in music that the cafe people had piping out... witty and charming boy afterwards asked if I'd like to see a movie, and we arranged to go see something a few days later ... or, two years ago today ... Where did this lead to? Much talking, much huggling, meeting of parentals, questions being asked, The Question being asked, with appropriate response, and now the planning begins ...

And what did all of this come from? Um... I asked if he'd like to come to my housewarming party! ... So, if you ask him, I started it ... *giggle*

It's been a wonderful two years, Decay, and I'm looking forward to spending the rest of my life getting to hug you! *heart-felt sappiness* I love you lots! (:

That was your yearly dose of sappiness... we now return you to your scheduled broadcasts ...

There's something about week 5 ...

Well, at least I think it's week 5 ... I've been caught up in a small backlog of work, since the whole bridal fair, bogan party, filming stuff for the younger bro, then catching a cold and managing to play fairly decent tennis despite the cold ... but the work backlog was caused mainly by some procrastination on my part from the middle of last week ... I know, every time I do that, that it'll come back to bite me, but I think my brain needed the rest ...

It's been a bit frustrating lately, I can't seem to think straight to do the assignments this semester ... the last couple of days it's been the shell scripting, last week it was the floor cleaning robot simulation, I'm dreading what state my brain's going to be in when I'll have to finish an essay for next week ...

Speaking of things weddingy ... mum actually bought a bridal magazine last week, before I went to the bridal fair ... even I haven't bought one yet ... although I seem to have been given/lent a few already... leafed through them, couldn't find anything in the way of a nice dress, so the next option is to draw one up and get someone to make it... yay! We talked to a whole pile of reception venue people, and they all kind of did the jaw drop thing when we told them we might be having 400 guests ... We did find a few that would be able to hold the number though ... The Melbourne Aquarium looks to be a really kewl place to have the thing though ...

If I have time this weekend, I might have a go at reviewing the Bogan Party that was, as well as more bridal fair stuff ... I don't particularly ever want to go to one again, although I've been told that the ones held at shopping centres are a fairly decent lot as well ... more chance to win stuff? Yeah, they can pay for 400 people (: Yay!

Ok, I should do some work ...

Happy Birthday to ...

future Dad-in-Law, Decay's Dad! *giggle* ...

Yes I know, I'm procrastinating now... trying to figure out how to get my brain to settle down and stick to doing one thing ... um... it's proving a bit difficult ... so I'll get all those things that would stop me from concentrating on the one thing, out of the way now, and I'll be right for the rest of the afternoon. Or something.

Anyway. Go have a read at Tomato Nation ... lucky I'm not in a computer lab where I have to keep quiet... (:

Ok, one more thing I have to do before the list of other things I should do has been exhausted and I'll have to sit down and concentrate on getting some assignment type thing done ... One deadline over and stuff handed in yesterday for it ... went back to uni at 4pm to hand something in, and bumped into my lab demonstrator from last semester - he said hi ... that's the first time I've had a lab demonstrator who has remembered me (yes, including name!) after the semester, enough to wave hello (: Nah, he's a nice guy (hi D.W, btw). Having been at Uni for 4.5 years now, it's nice... geez, I've been at uni longer than my demonstrator last semester has ... making me feel old now ... aarrggghh!

Mmmm... tomato soup ...

Yes, I scooted back to Decay's place to drop off a couple of heavy library books, the Demotivator, and to grab some lunch ... I have a nice mug of tomato soup, which went well with the toasted cheese sandwich I did also (: I've also managed to do my prac prelims for the 2pm lab ... and I might just get some reading in as well ... I'm feeling frazzled and disorganised, how are you?

Meanwhile, I'm hoping that the burst of rain that happened as the first lecture of my day was finishing, might care to repeat itself around 7.30pm ... I'm playing tennis tonight, but I don't know how bothered I am with the whole getting there and being freezing for a bit before I warm up ... once we're into it, it's fine... just that initial cold bit ... sort of like when you first hop into bed in winter... unless you've got such things as an electric blanket, the sheets are damn cold when you first jump in ... I don't know about you but I tend to jump in then curl up into a droidy-ball, and gradually uncurl myself as bits of the bed warm up to an acceptably droidy-comfortable temperature... except it's tennis, not hopping into bed ... given the current night-time temperatures, I'd much rather be jumping into bed than onto a tennis court ... but hey. At least I have new shoes to wear? Maybe I won't fall over in the same way I was with the old shoes ... yay!

Bridal fair this weekend... um... to all of those who are apparently accompanying me to this thingy... I'll get another email out soon, I think ... don't know what we'll try to do beforehand... if anyone could suggest places for brunches/lunches/coffee? beforehand, and the details on how we're going to get there (whose car/public transport?) ... Neither the mother, not the future mother in law are going to make it this time (although I think my mum's dragging my dad to a different session time ... ) so um.... help !?

Lack of fun links for the moment... have a read about Temp Jobs ...

Large amounts of Grrr...

Ok, smart people... what do you do if your usual car parking spot has been taken by someone who has decided to park one car where two would fit, and then hasn't moved the damn car... so you park across the road ... only to find that car park reclaimed by someone else later, to try parking in the next available parking spot behind the greedy car, only to be asked to park somewhere else cos someone's trying to claim someone else's junk for something? Park three houses down, in front of the greedy car? That's what I just did ... went to uni to collect a newspaper and look at a couple of books, came back to find my previous parking spot opposite Decay's place taken, Greedy Car hadn't moved (don't think it's moved in three days... ), don't want to park in the driveway because it'll mean much car swappage later on when Decay gets home ... can't park infront of the greedy car because my car's too long, and Decay's dad can fit there... can't park on the front lawn of Decay's rental property because that's a listed don't in the lease agreement ... should I just ram the Greedy car forward ?! I'm going to go and hit something if this car parking crap keeps up ... don't ask what happens when the 4WD from across the road gets parked on the side of the road as well ...

Meanwhile, I'll just get back to doing these DFDs and specifying all the ins and outs of this thing ... Bucketloads of Fun for all the family!

Whoa, Big Week, Hey?

I traipsed into Uni this morning, to find it looked like it was recovering from one mother of a hangover... Granted, it was Green Week last week ... judging by the tired looking signage everywhere, it must've been close to a Uni open day as well ... deflating balloons caught up in the trees, trampled grass and plants, and mini-skips in various locations ... Yep, Uni's got a hangover ...

In other news, I have recently had a bridal magazine come into my hands ... No, I didn't pay for it... someone else is also getting married next year and they've already done most of the big details so they didn't need to look at the magazine anymore... so it's been passed onto me for the time being ... We laughed muchly at the manly stud dude wearing a flesh coloured dick sticker in the hen's night ideas section ... they're stuffing socks down their undies, aren't they? That, and taking too many fashion tips from Fabio ...

I bought a roll of clear contact to help save my books ... I still have to figure out what else I need to get ... tomorrow there's a vacation work fair which I'll have to go to ... how we'll manage this when I have lectures through most of it... first hour's going to be interesting getting through though ... I need someone tall to go with me so I can get relevant information! We'll see ...

Ok, time to tackle this thingy ... I have to figure out what this assignment is about before I can do all the DFDs ... oww... my head hurts ...

Birthday Girl!

*giggle* ... today's my cousin Alice's Birthday ... I'd post something special in honour of this, but my brain's out of inspiration right now ...

In other news, the notification for the Bridal Fair has come in, that will be my one concession to being all bridey and stuff. They have boys in kilts in their brochure, so maybe I'll get further on the finding out costs and stuff... Hmmm ...

I got to go to the bookstore today and buy me some books ... Mmmm... Applied Cryptography might turn into my nightly read ... it's interesting stuff ... I didn't go mad and buy everything on the booklist yet ... for one thing my bag was a bit full, and there are a few I'd like to test-drive first ... if they're unreadable I'm not forking the money out to get them...

Out to dinner tonight with the parentals ... and the Decay (: I'll have to get some more work done before I get too tired ... must be getting old ... wanting to go to sleep at 9:30pm is not the best way to get work done ...

Quote of the day...
Droidy's Lecturer: "...And you know what they do to those who plagiarise ... Give them a million dollars and tell them to go away ... "

Who said lecturers don't have a sense of humour? (:

Ok, back to work now ...
