Where did this week run off to?
More Friday Five-itude...
- Would you say that you're good at keeping in touch with people?
I used to do ok on the keeping up with people thing, but since I started at uni, it's been more difficult ... I used to write letters all the time to various people, then it was emails... after a while I got a bit discouraged by the lack of response from those who I hardly get to see (because we ended up at different universities, and because apparently where I lived was far away?!), along with things like wanting to spend inordinate amounts of time with a particular huggable boy, and then feeling completely out of the loop when we did arrange to meet up with everyone... Yes. I used to be good at this, now, not so much.
- Which communication method do you usually prefer/use: e-mail, telephone, snail mail, blog comments, or meeting in person? Why?
I'm still very much an e-mail/snail mail person ... I don't much like the phone, and I'd prefer to meet them IRL than ring them on the phone. I'm kind of happy that my friends are using this here weblog/blah thing as a way to keep up with what's happening over in my corner of the planet... I rant on so I remember what I was on about! We have been known to attempt to plan our social lives in the comments of the rantspace.org websites I rant on, which makes me look like I might have some semblance of a life? Or perhaps even less of a life than previously thought? *giggle*
- Do you have an instant messenger program? How many? Why/why not? How often do you use it?
I use Trillian because it handles ICQ, MSN Messenger, AIM, Yahoo Messenger, and IRC, without having to open up a million different IMs ... That's what you get when various friends have latched onto a particular IM and aren't wanting to switch anytime soon? It's not as feature rich as some, but I really don't want most of the extra added features most of the time ... Plus, this means I get to talk to Decay while he's at work ... without ringing him up! Pretty much when I'm on a computer, trillian is running ... actually, trillian is probably running even when I'm not around ... it makes a nice answering machine on the computer (:
- Do most of your close friends live nearby or far away?
Define close ... my bridesmaidy people are close by ... well, Em's in France, but B, Jules and Di are still less than 15 minutes away (: Decay? Well, I'm at his place more often than not anyways ... but not living with is too far away...
- Are you an "out of sight, out of mind" person, or do you believe that "distance makes the heart grow fonder"?
Um... yes. Both?
